First Big Storm and QA for October 27, 2010

We are experiencing the first big storm of the season and we have had near record low barometric pressure here in North Dakota.

It has brought snow and wind...and pain!

For some reason, the low barometric pressure effects some people who have arthritis and I've been feeling it the last few days.  I was restless and unable to concentrate much yesterday.  Even though I had an unexpected day home (because we couldn't go to Bismarck in the storm) I don't feel like I got that much accomplished.  I don't feel much better today, but hopefully, I"ll get a little sewing done.

Here were my goals from last Wednesday:
  1. Finish quilting the Quilt Guild quilt--still having problems with my new Janome...GRRR
  2. Finish quilting and bind the Linus Project quilt--didn't get done...I need to finish that today
  3. Finish Niblet Exchange blocks--done and sent off
  4. Finish Block Lotto blocks--done
  5. Finish 1930s quilt--problems with Janome
Today is supposed to be the last Beginner's Quilting class, but I"m not sure but what we may postpone until next week.  Earlier, they were talking the storm clearing by noon, but on the radar, it doesn't appear as if that will happen.

We'll see.

What are your plans for this week?

Here are mine:
  1. Finish four Twister tops that I have cut out and started
  2. Finish Project Linus quilt and send off along with two other quilts that are already finished
  3. Post block lotto blocks
  4. Continue working on my sewing room
Make sure you visit Bari and see what everyone else has planned for this week.  Join us in posting a few goals!

You still got something done, in spite of machine problems.

Feel better.

I'm seriously dreading winter coming on. I'm so not ready for snow. Or even cold, for that matter. Sorry to hear you've had arthritis problems, topped off by sewing machine problems. Here's wishing you a much better week this week!

I read about that storm in my newspaper today! Here in Florida we are having record high temps. My plans are to complete some tote bags that were started at a big charity sewing day on Monday. I hosted, but my plans included having the house open. And, serving chili for lunch! We had to crank the a/c as low as it would go instead, but we got over 100 bags mostly finished :-)

Checking in from QA -- what specific problems are you having with the machine? Are you still considering trading up? I got a 7700 this summer and so far so good. If you have any questions about it, I'll be glad to answer them.

I took a look at your next post too -- whoa, that's A LOT of snow. No wonder your joints are aching. And I don't blame the goats, in that weather, I'd rather eat indoors too!!

Oh, Tamera! Arthritis pain and sewing machine problems....one sure doesn't help make the other feel better, does it?

I hope you have the machine running smoothly again and are able to get the sewing back to a smooth rhythm.

You did get a lot accomplished this week despite the setbacks. I pray you have a better week this week and that the arthritis pain would not be so great!

Love the snow, but chores sure are no fun for beast or man!
