Well, this is me, checking in from the retreat.
Why didn't you guys TELL me I would have so much fun?!?!?!?!? Oh my gosh, I just can't believe how much you can get done and how fun it is to be surrounded by a bunch of people who LOVE quilting as much or more than I do, lol.
I don't really have totals today because I left some of my figures at home, so I'll just tell you that I got borders on my Shangri-La quilt.
So, since I finished my UFO (top) for this month, I decided to take another UFO with me. I'm SO glad that I chose the one that I did! It's so fiddly that I needed this concentrated time to work on it. I think I should be able to get the top finished before I leave today...if I'm able to leave, lol.
Most of the state is under a Winter Storm Warning and it's supposed to be worse the closer I get to home, lol.
Anyway, this is the Hummingbird Quilt...or part of it:
I started this quilt in a class I took with Darlene Zimmerman, and I haven't worked on it since! It was #1 on my UFO list, but now, I'll get to do something else when #1 comes up on Judy's UFO challenge...Woo Hoo!
Make sure and check out Judy's blog to see how everyone else did this week!
Have a quilty day! I gotta get busy!

Both quilts are just wonderful!
I have some 30's prints that I have vowed to get to this year. This quilt might be just what I need.
Your retreat sounds like fun! Love the hummingbird quilt.
Perfect finsih! You're having a ball and getting a ton accomplished!
Glad you are having such a terrific time. I love to sew with a group of people and see what everyone is doing.
Great results! I'm off to retreat next weekend, and I can't wait. I've been planning my projects for ages. Hope you don't get snowed in - but wait, would that be a bad thing? Just be careful.
Yeah retreat - so much fun! Lovely hummingbird quilt, can't wait to see it all. Safe journey home...
Yup - retreats are fun. great looking quilts.
Drive home safely!
Liz
Both quilts are very pretty. Love the colors and pattern of the hummingbird quilt.
The blue border looks good. The red might just have overpowered it. I'm so glad you are enjoying your retreat. And I'm impressed that you were able to work on a 'fiddly' quilt. I generally take "no brain required" quilts so I can gab.
It's been a while since I went on a retreat, I think that I'm due again. You did a fabulous job on both quilts. Drive home safely if you can, but would it be bad if you were snowed in? I hope that you have fun and enjoy the retreat and the company.
Your tops both look great! Congrats on getting ahead of the UFO draws!
I'm glad to hear you had such fun! The quilts look great!
ohhH! Great colors with your hummingbird quilt!
I took Darlene Zimmerman's "Finishing School" at Road to California last month. She's great. And Judy's blog is a great way to keep quilting!!
Both quilts are great, but I specially love the Hummingbird one.
Beautiful Quilts!
I have not been toa retreat yet! Sounds wonderful and may have to do one soon.
Lucky you being on a retreat. I am looking forward to attending more retreats once ds #4 leaves for college in the fall - not that I am rushing him in any way. Your Hummingbird Quilt is going to be spectacular.
