I don't know about you all, but I have been feeling so productive this last week!

I finished another quilt. This one was for my son. It's been around for a while and he's been "patiently" waiting for mom to finish it.

On Friday, my hubby and Miss Mariah surprised me with flowers. Rainbow Roses! Have you every heard of them? They were just lovely!

 Last night, I finished a couple of Butterfly Blocks for my 1930s swap group. They should make for an interesting swap!

 And, this morning, I finished up a couple of blocks that I'm going to make a Rooster Pin Cushion out of.

We'll be doing this all together at Stitchin' Sisters tomorrow night. Can't wait to see my Sistas!

Another Finish

I have finished two quilts so far this year! WooHoo.

The first one, I didn't get pictures of. How silly was that? It was a quilt that my daughter made for her sixth grade teacher, Mrs. Gross. Olivia made the quilt, I quilted it and bound it and she put a label on it. Good for her!

The second one is a Rail Fence Quilt done in brown and pink. This one just needed binding, so it went quickly.

I took a few close-up shots of the quilting. I did it a long time ago, and looking at it convinced me that I should just stick with Bottom Line thread in the bobbin. It makes the tension SO much better.

I'm still working on my inventory of quilts, but it's kind of making me discouraged to see all the quilts that I need to finish!

However, I do have a pile of finished quilts that need to be gifted or donated, so that's exciting.

Two Finishes!

OK, Ladies and Gentlemen!  I finished the binding on two quilts today!  Woo Hoo!  Cookin' with Gas!!!!!

First, I finished this table topper that I did for my beginner quilting class.

I had already sewn the binding on the front, I just finished it with the machine.

And, I also cut the binding and put it on this 1930s quilt.

It's going to my daughter Sophia.

I have another quilt almost just exactly like this one, but it's still in the quilting phase.

I'm REALLY excited because these will both come off my stash report on Sunday!  Life is good!

A Few Finishes

Well, despite the virus, sick kids, and irregular sleep schedule, I've managed to finish a few things.

This first finish is for my beginning quilting class.

This is the wall hanging (although I think it could be used for a table topper as well). I'm not sure whether I like it better vertical or horizontal.

Here's a close up of the quilting.

This is my first attempt at "micro-stippling."  I'm thinking that the leaves need "veins" quilted in, but my daughter wanted me to leave them plain.  What do you guys think?  I still may do that before the class.

I also finished the binding on Free's Quilt in the middle of the night when Mimi kicked me out of my own bed, lol.

I think the brown binding was a good choice.

This is a BIG lap quilt for a TALL guy, so LOTS of stash busted.  Woo Hoo!

I'm off to Bismarck today to resume violin lessons, so hope that you all have a quilty day!

Pillowcases

Well, I woke up early this morning...2AM. I couldn't get back to sleep, so I finally got up at 2:30 and decided to sew.

I got a couple of pillowcases done. I think they turned out great. They're for two of my nephews.

Here's the pillowcase for Landon, who's a big hockey player/fan.



And here's the pillowcase for little Ethan.



They were pretty easy, and I used French seams, so there won't be raggedy seams after a few washes.

If I decide to do this for some of the other nieces and nephews, I still have quite a few to go, but now that I've done these two and see how easy they are, it should be easy. I'm thinking of doing a photo tutorial. We'll see.

A Finish!

Well, a few things to blog about...

First of all, my laptop went kaput. That was kind of a kick in the pants, so I'm relegated to the "kids' computer" which is quite a bit older, etc. I'll get my laptop back on Tuesday, so I don't think there'll be photos until then.

BUT...

I did finish Joey's Brown Bear Quilt! Woo Hoo! He was very excited to sleep under it on Friday night when I finished it.

Yesterday, the girls and I went to their sewing class in Valley City. I took that opportunity to finish tucking in all the threads on Joey's quilt (OK, so maybe it wasn't ALLLLL the way finished on Friday night, lol) and also work on the binding on my Mom's quilt. Just about finished there.

I would REALLY LOVE to get my Carolina Crossroads quilt done, but I'm paralyzed because I just don't know how I'm going to quilt it.

In the back of my mind, I would really love to hand quilt it, but on the other hand, I REALLY want to give it to my sister for Christmas...decisions, decisions.
