Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I have three finishes to show. I'm on a roll!
The first is a little table topper. It's an oldie but goodie, lol.
This is a mini twister quilt made with scraps. I made it for my step-mother-in-law a long time ago and I finally bound it up. This is the first time I ever used single binding. It was pretty easy, but I had never used single binding becauseTamerahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17381235847159519699noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2223850653978665563.post-39642884155359339492016-03-10T10:15:00.000-06:002016-03-10T10:52:46.097-06:00Another Quilt Finished
I finished the binding on another quilt last night. That's four finishes this month! I'm on a roll.
It's a Chihuahua magnet, lol.
On another note, I re-potted my lucky bamboo plant.
The bigger shoots were in the same container as the smaller one on the right.
I don't keep it here in the direct sunlight. I just put them here for the picture. They really don't like too much light.

I finished another quilt this afternoon. That's three old UFOs crossed off my list!
This is just a panel with a couple of borders added, but it's finished!
Hope you're all having a quilty day!
On a side note, I've decided that babysitting is a less expensive alternative to having a baby brother. My two younger kiddos have had so much fun with Oakley!
They were playing outside without Tamerahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17381235847159519699noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2223850653978665563.post-70684920319530549162016-03-09T08:56:00.001-06:002016-03-09T08:56:49.937-06:00Two Finishes!
I finished the binding on two quilts yesterday.
The first quilt is a mile a minute quilt. I don't remember the name of the fabric line. The second quilt was from a kit and the top has been finished for about two or three years.
So glad to get a few old UFOs finished!
Hope you have a quilty day!

On my design wall today are blocks from my brown monochromatic quilt.
I wish I could say that this quilt will make a dent in my brown fabric, but it won't, lol. The yellow one and purple one did, but I have TONS of brown, so alas.
I'm linking up with Judy. Make sure you check out what everyone else is up to!
Have a quilty day.

I finished off four quilts yesterday and I made my first fabric purchase in a LONG time.
In the morning, I helped someone attach the binding to her quilt. I had provided the backing and the binding, so that was almost 3 yards.
I finished up the quilts that my two kidos (10 and 11 years old) finished. Those came totally from my stash. One quilt used about 5.7 yards and one used 4.6 yards. I finished up three quilts today! YEAH ME!
The first was a quilt that my daughter Mariah made.
This is her first quilt. She pieced it, and I quilted and bound it. It was made to replace the quilt that I made her when she was a baby which is, of course, much loved.
You can see that I had to patch the old quilt, lol.
Next, I finished the quilt that Josiah had pieced.
He's pretty proud, Tamerahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17381235847159519699noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2223850653978665563.post-72879399900406596552016-02-29T06:39:00.000-06:002016-02-29T14:36:35.298-06:00Design Wall Monday, February 28, 2016
On my design wall this morning are two floppies that I finished yesterday.
The first one is my violet monochromatic quilt. I used The Boardwalk Block tutorial from 13 Spools. Be sure and check out her website for lots of great information!

I have big plans for this week.
First of all, I have several quilts that just need binding to finish up.
I have two quilt that are almost quilted.
And, I want to start on my Monochromatic quilt...which I have decided may be two different quilts, lol.
Let's see how much I get done!
Today, I have a little visitor. He's the grandson of my husband's cousin, lol.

I've been working on the borders of my mom's quilt. There are two thick borders and I'm doing feathers in them.
My feathers don't look that nice up close, but on the bed, they don't look too bad, lol.
Hope you're having a quilty day!

I'm making progress on my mom's quilt. I have one more border to do, then just a few spots to fill in.

I'm working to finish up an old UFO. It's one of my mother's first quilts, and I told her I'd quilt it for her. Well, several years later...I've brought it out again. I just have a few more areas to quilt and I'll be finished.
The quilt is set on point and I finished the side triangles a long time ago. It's funny how much better I am today.
For the corner triangles, I am going to be putting Tamerahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17381235847159519699noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2223850653978665563.post-36797001156141903372016-02-11T07:28:00.002-06:002016-02-11T07:28:19.765-06:00Another Way to Baste

How do you all baste your quilts?
I've been using Sullivan's basting spray for years, but recently I learned a new method of using it that has really made basting even easier!
Here's a link to a YouTube video on how to do it.
There's no way I could physically baste a quilt on the floor and other methods I have tried (even with the basting spray) use lots of space and lots of spray.

I'm working on those UFOs! They're biting the dust right and left! YEAH!!!!
Last night, I basted Josiah's first quilt. He is in my 4-H quilting group, Quilting Pals, and he's been working on his quilt between meetings. He has the top done and last night, he kept me company while I basted his quilt. I'm hoping to get it quilted within the next few days.

I finished quilting another quilt today. That makes four that I have only binding yet!
I also got a good start on my monochromatic quilt for this month. Considering I just started it a few days ago, I think that's good, lol. I'll get some pictures on tomorrow.

I did get a quilt basted and another one is ready to be basted, but I just can't get motivated!
Do any of you have those days?!?!?!?
Hope you're having a quilty day!
Addendum:
Well, I found some motivation...in a small bottle of 5 Hour Energy, lol. I got another quilt basted and started the dishes and cooked dinner.

I'm going to challenge myself to do a monochromatic quilt each month. I want to get rid of some of my stash, and this seems as good a way as any, lol. I'm going to use a twister pattern because they use big 10" blocks and they go together quickly. Then I'll cut up the rest of the fat quarter into smaller blocks and organize them by color as I go.
These are the colors I'm going to use:

I just finished a baby quilt. I finished the binding during the games yesterday.
This quilt doesn't have a place to go yet. I will probably donate it.

So, I got this fat quarter pack and it's kind of Christmasy, but not too Christmasy. (I don't like Christmasy fabric AT ALL.) I saw a quilt online and then I couldn't find it again, so I thought I could make it anyway.
I made all negative 9-patches rather than positive 9-patches.
When I put them on the design wall, I realized that there was nothing I could do with them, lol. Not feeling well today. :-(
We finished school in good time this morning, though. I always feel better when all the kiddos school is finished.
This afternoon, I took a nap and I still don't feel much better, but I'm going to work on a block so I can go sew with my friend, Candice tomorrow. We're doing a quilt together, so I'll try and get some photos to share with you all.

I've been busy this last week. I quilted four quilts and a friend quilted two and now it's time to bind.
Here are some pictures of the quilts held by my faithful quilt holder, Josiah.
Now, some obligatory kid pictures.

This is the first quilt that I'm going to be finishing. It's for my brother who recently moved up to Bismarck.
I LOVE having my brother nearby. The rest of my family lives in Kansas and Colorado, and that's a LONG way from North Dakota!

I'll have to see if I can find the book that this quilt came from. I love it!
