Design Wall Monday - 1/3/11

Pillowcases are on my design "cutting mat" this morning.

I wanted to get something done last night when we returned from our L O N G trip, so I sewed up the two on the left (the two on the right were already done).  This is for December's project at A Dozen Quilters, so these will go in the mail along with my 1930s quilt and they will all go to an orphanage.

On tap for today is to get working on various blocks that need to be done before next week.

I promised a block to a lady who wants blocks from quilters in each of the 50 states for a quilt she's making.  I got the idea that having fabric with the state flower would be cool, so I found some fabric with wild roses on it and I'm planning on using that.

I would like to get this block done today amidst all the post-trip bustle...you know...unpacking, laundry, getting kids started back on school, straightening the mess we left on the way out the door...the usual stuff.

What's on your design wall today?  Make sure you check out Judy's blog to find out what everyone else is up to.

Glad you are safely back. I am surprised you had any time to sew yesterday with all the unpacking etc.

Sorry the weather had been an issue for you. Here, in Iowa, we missed the storm. The whole week before they kept telling us it was coming our way...so glad we missed it. Enjoy being HOME.

Great idea to personalize your state block with the wild roses fabric. Good luck with the block and please let us see it when it's done. Welcome home!

I detest the post-trip mess, the laundry, the disorganization, and lack of quilting time :) Good luck with getting some sewing time!

Glad you took a little time to actually sew once you got home. Hum, maybe I should make a few more pillow cases for donations. They run up quickly and use a nice amount of fabric which helps trim the stash.

The worst part of a trip is always the recovery :) Good luck getting your block done.

Your pillow cases are bright and cheerful. You are so generous, donating pillow cases & a quilt. Can't wait to see what you do with the rose fabric. I've finished RRCB step 3 so it's on to step 4 this week. Will you have time to work on yours?
