Design Wall Monday - 1/24/11

It's Design Wall Monday again!  What did you work on this week?

I really haven't had much quilt time this week as I haven't felt the best, but I did get a bit of sewing done yesterday while watching football.

I have four rows added on Wonky Town.  I REALLY like the way it's turning out!  I actually have a couple more rows sewn together, and I'm thinking that I need one more row to make it a nice snuggle size.

Then, I think I will make a narrow border of the "road" fabric (the green between the rows), and I'm going to call it good.

This is my #6 UFO project.  I was only planning on getting the top and back finished, so I still think that I will make my goal before the end of the month.

That will make two quilts that I've finished in January and soon, I'll need to have a basting party and get several quilts ready for quilting.

I'm going to try quilting on my Janome again.  I didn't have much luck when I tried before, but I'm going to try a different thread.  (It doesn't like my King Tut, which I just LOVE!)

So, what are you working on today?  Make sure you check out Judy's blog to see what's on everyone's design wall.  And, it you find something that you like, make sure and take a moment to comment!  Everyone LOVES comments!  :-)

Did you try a different thread in the bobbin? My machine likes King Tut as top thread and a lighter thread on bottom like bottom line.

Love the wonky houses - I have been wanting to do a house quilt - you just might spur me on to adding to my UFO list (as opposed to cutting back on the list!)

Do you know about the Janome Yahoo group? It's really active and there's lots of help for any problem you can imagine with your Janome machine. Love your houses!

Love your wonky town! Way to go accomplishing so much on this UFO in January! What about putting a light teal/blue coloured border on the top and part way down the sides for a sky, and the ground fabric for the bottom half of the sides and on the bottom edge??

Wonky Town is wonderful. Such a fun quilt. Keep plugging away on your ufos. It sounds like you are making great progress.

I love the wonky houses, and the lettering, and the colours, and the layout, and just everything about this quilt. So much fun, and will be great to snuggle under.

Sorry you wern't feeling well last week. I know it is difficult to be creative when you are down. But you did a great job on your cuddle quilt. I still need to make some kind of house quilt, someday.

I love checking out your design wall every Monday! You are a very talented quilters and Wonky Town is just another example of that. I hope you're feeling 100% soon. You know you are really sick when you don't even feel like sewing; at least that seems to be the gauge we use around here to determine just how sick I am. Have a great week!

What a darling quilt! Let me know when you find a thread combination that works for your Janome. I love mine, but so far I've resisted quilting on it. LOL! :)

i like King Tut, but my Pfaff just chews it up and spits it out. Absolutely cannot quilt with it! Your Wonky Town looks great.

I have had good luck with King Tut thread, but know of others with your same dilemma. Your wonky town is looking super cute.

This is a really fun quilt. And I would say you had gotten plenty done. I probably won't get any time to sew today. Work gets in the way some weeks. But I do have a binding to hand stitch and my Schnibbles project started, so maybe a couple of evening this week will offer some sewing time.

Wow, if this is how much you accomplish when you "really haven't had much quilt time this week", I can't begin to imagine what you do when you've been sewing up a storm. LOL Great job on the Wonky Town.

Oh my gosh! I love your wonky town and adding the letters is so neat. I'm planning to order the book for letters from Connecting Threads (waiting for orders from guild members as I'm resources contact) and have it waiting in my shopping basket. I love the feel of all the shades of blues for the sky.
