Design Wall Monday, December 13

Well, this morning, I have a pictures of my sister's quilt that is JUST about finished.  This is the Carolina Crossroads quilt from a mystery by Bonnie Hunter.  The pattern is in one of her books (I'm not sure which...maybe one of you know), but I made it when it was an online mystery.

I finished the quilting and I've trimmed the edges and now I'm going to put on the binding today.

I'll post a picture when it's all finished.

I also have a picture of a little quilt that I'm going to start using as a Leader-Ender project.  I would REALLY like to get this little one done.

It's called the Hummingbird Quilt from a pattern by Darlene Zimmerman.  I was able to attend a class with her earlier this year.  It was a blast! and I really want to finish the quilt to remember the class.

So, that's what's on my "design wall."  Make sure you check out Judy's blog and see what everyone else is up to this week...I'll be it will have something to do with a certain holiday that's coming up F-A-S-T!

Have a quilty day!

I really like the quilt you are making for your sister. Your colors are great. Would you be williing to share the name of the pattern?

Using leaders and enders is a great way to make progress on a project. I've been using it for a few months and it does make a difference. If I sewed more, it would go faster I think.

Bonnie's Carolina Crossroads has always been one of my favorite patterns of her design. Someday I would like to make one. Good job.

Love the bonnie hunter pattern but don't know if I would want to tackle that many little pieces.

I gave my Carolina Crossroads to my sister too. :) Leaders and enders can created another quilt so fast! I am lost without them now.

I loke your Caroline Crossroads alot. I think that many of them came out so busy that they were not my thing. Your colors are wonderful!

Your CC looks wonderful. Way to go -- you are almost done with it now. I know the end run is always trying -- I'm usually thinking about starting a new project or moving on to finish another UFO. Who wants to do binding?! Your other block look intereseting. Is it paper pieced?

I love the purples in the CC! Isn't it such a great feeling to be almost done with such a big project?

Yes, the Carolina Crossroad quilt is just beautiful! And I love yor leader-ender project. You are right: getting a class project finished does give nice memories when you snuggle under the final project.

The quilt looks good. I like it in just a few colors. Most of the other ones I've seen were scrappy.
