Stash Report, Week 29, 2012

Well, I haven't been counting stash much this year, but I have been finishing a LOT of quilts.

I had a big lot of fabric come into my  stash, but some of it is for the backing of a customer quilt and the rest is for the backing of quilts that I plan to finish right away, he he he...the best laid plans of mice and men!

I bought four lovely yards of this batik (on the bottom) to back a wonderful sampler quilt that my fellow Stichin' Sisiter, Julie finished. She's been waiting patiently and this is the next quilt to be finished!

I also bought four yard lots of Sassy to finish up the two Jelly Roll Race quilts I finished last week.

I think the Sassy goes with the quilts quite well!

Looks like it could all be from the same line!

So, I brought in thirteen and a half yards this week. Naughty me. :-)

But, I have plans for it all, so I guess that's good.

Have a quilty day!

Stash Report - Week 11, 2012

For my stash report today, I'll have to say that I'm getting ready to use up a LOT of fabric.

Today is going to be for basting all the tops I can find that I have backs for. I'll be quilting them up because...

SHE'S HERE!

This is Emily. I chose the name because I thought that Emily sounded like a Sweet Sixteen girl, lol.

I'm SO excited to have her at last. She's a sit down 16" throat mid-arm.

I'm ready to work!

Here are some of the things I've been working on.

Stash Report - Week 7 - 2012

Well, I added some fabric this week. How did you do?

First of all, I have to tell you that my FAVORITE color is orange. And would you guess what the Pantone Color of the Year is this year???? TANGERINE!

So, to celebrate, Fat Quarter Shop put together this Tangerine Tango fat quarter pack. However, I had determined that I didn't want to buy a lot of fat quarters any more. I have enough. SO, I figured out which fabrics were in the fat quarter pack and bought a half yard of each, lol.

Aren't they preety??? Chalk up 5½ yards.

Secondly, the February Palette Challenge over at Judy's really caught my imagination this month, but I knew that I didn't have any fabric in those colors. So, I decided to just look for border fabric...but of course, when I found the border fabric, the coordinating fabric just had to come home with me, too.

Chalk up another 7¾ yards.

At least I have a plan for most of it, he he he.

Make sure you check out Judy's and find out how everyone else did this week.

Stash Report - Week 13

I didn't do much sewing this week, so my numbers stayed the same.

Fabric in: 0 yards
Fabric out: 0 yards
Total fabric in: 45.92 yards
Total fabric out: 50.37 yards
In/Out percentage: 91%
Goal: 150% In/Out percentage
I'm at 61% of my goal
Fabric given away: 130
Net: 134.45

I'm at 90% of my goal!!!!

Make sure you check out how everyone else did this week at Judy's blog!  Judy is almost up to 100 yards used!  Way to go, Judy!

Stash Report - Week 12

Well, I've been sewing this week, how about you ladies?

I finished the main part of my Brown Monochromatic quilt.  I just have to decide what to do about a border.

I also worked quite a bit on High Cotton and I just have a few more blocks to finish.  I'll be working on putting it together this week, I think.

I did purchase some of the pink and brown that I fell in love with so I could have it in my stash.  I'm still not sick of pink and brown yet, so I may do another quilt with that color combo, lol.

So, here are my numbers...

Fabric in: 7 yards
Fabric out: 2.59 yards
Total fabric in: 45.92 yards
Total fabric out: 50.37 yards
In/Out percentage: 91%
Goal: 150% In/Out percentage
I'm at 61% of my goal
Fabric given away: 130
Net: 134.45
Goal: 150 net yards out
I'm at 90% of my goal!!!!

As you can see, I set a second goal for myself.  I want to use 150% of what I bring into my stash this year (not counting in the fabric that I give away).  I got this idea from Brenda at Bits And Pieces.

So far, I've used 61%, so I feel like I have a good start on that goal!

Make sure you check out how everyone else did this week at Judy's blog!

Stash Report - 3/13/11

Happy Birthday to me!  Happy Anniversary to me, too!

Today is the day of my birth, and also the day that I married the best man in the world!

This morning, my daughter Sophia went out and did chores before I was even out of bed.  How's that for awesome?!?!  Not only do I have a wonderful hubby, I have GREAT kids!

And, I have a great hobby!  And I added to my stash this week, lol.  I bought some fabric.  It's so purdy!  I've already cut into it.

I've found that since I've been reporting my fabric, I have become very focused on what I buy.  I've been tempted, but I've been able to resist because I knew that I would need to report it, lol.

I've also been working hard on High Cotton.  I have the blocks about two-thirds of the way done.

So, here are my numbers for this week.

Fabric in: 11.42 yards
Fabric out: 4.02 yards
Total fabric in: 38.92 yards
Total fabric out: 47.78 yards
Fabric given away: 130
Net: 138.86
Goal: 150 net yards out
I've reached 93% of my goal!!!!

Make sure you check out how everyone else did this week at Judy's blog.

Stash Report - Week 10

Well, I did some sewing this week, ladies!  How did you do?

I finished my Monochromatic top.  It turned out really nice, I think.  The border seems too white, but I will use a scrappy purple binding and I think that will finish it up nicely.  I don't really want it much bigger.  I'll be using it as a donation quilt, I think.  (IF I can keep it away from my purple-crazy daughter, lol.)

I also finished a couple of blocks for a Sampler Quilt I'm doing with my Stichin' Sisters.  I'll get some pics up a little later.

I got some blocks done for a couple of the online groups I belong to, so all in all, it was a good week.

Here's my numbers:

Fabric in: 0 yards
Fabric out: 4.7 yards
Total fabric in: 27.5 yards
Total fabric out: 43.76 yards
Fabric given away: 130
Net: 146.26
Goal: 150 net yards out
I've reached 97.5% of my goal!!!!

I'm feeling excited about the things that I'm getting accomplished!

Make sure you check out how everyone else is doing by visiting Judy!

Have a quilty day!

Stash Report - Week 8 & 9

I wasn't able to report last week since I was at retreat, so I have a lot to report this week.

First of all, I rid myself of 98 yards in the giveaway.  That felt SO good.  Added to the 32 yards from before, that's 130 yards out of my stash!

Secondly, I finished two tops over the last few weeks.

So, here's my numbers.

Fabric in: 2.5 yards
Fabric out: 6.61 yards
Total fabric in: 27.5 yards
Total fabric out: 39.06 yards
Fabric given away: 130
Net: 141.56
Goal: 150 net yards out

Stash Report - Week 8

Well, this is me, checking in from the retreat.

Why didn't you guys TELL me I would have so much fun?!?!?!?!?  Oh my gosh, I just can't believe how much you can get done and how fun it is to be surrounded by a bunch of people who LOVE quilting as much or more than I do, lol.

I don't really have totals today because I left some of my figures at home, so I'll just tell you that I got borders on my Shangri-La quilt.

So, since I finished my UFO (top) for this month, I decided to take another UFO with me.  I'm SO glad that I chose the one that I did!  It's so fiddly that I needed this concentrated time to work on it.  I think I should be able to get the top finished before I leave today...if I'm able to leave, lol.

Most of the state is under a Winter Storm Warning and it's supposed to be worse the closer I get to home, lol.

Anyway, this is the Hummingbird Quilt...or part of it:

I started this quilt in a class I took with Darlene Zimmerman, and I haven't worked on it since!  It was #1 on my UFO list, but now, I'll get to do something else when #1 comes up on Judy's UFO challenge...Woo Hoo!

Make sure and check out Judy's blog to see how everyone else did this week!

Have a quilty day!  I gotta get busy!

Stash Report - Week 7

Well, this week is about a wash.  I did do a little quilting and used up a little over two and a half yards, but I also got some fabric in...naughty, naughty, lol.

I worked a little on my Monochromatic quilt and I also worked a little on my UFO Challenge quilt.  I'm still debating about the last border of the UFO Challenge quilt, so maybe you can make a visit here and give your opinion.

Also, I'm having a giveaway for free fabric...a whole priority mail box FULL!  You can either pay it forward, or keep it all!

So, here's my numbers for the week:

Fabric in: 2.5 yards
Fabric out: 2.69 yards
Total fabric in: 25 yards
Total fabric out: 64.45 yards
Net: 39.45
Goal: 150 net yards out (at 26% of my goal)

This number is going to go up dramatically next week because I already have two boxes of fabric ready to go out for my giveaway, and I'm planning on getting another box ready.  I'll have the post mistress weigh them before I send them to the winners and then that fabric will be winging its way into someone else's stash.  Woo Hoo!

Make sure that you check out Judy's blog to see how everyone else did this week.

Stash Report - Week 6

I had a few purchases this week as well!  I'm moving in the wrong direction!

But, all the fabric has a purpose, so that's good.

I also was able to find a home for some scraps that I knew I would never get around to using (32 yards worth by weight) and I'm thinking that I may go through some more fabric and find a home for it as well!  I'm going to count it as out of my stash.

I also started work on my UFO challenge project for this month, but I'll post about that tomorrow.  Right now, I need to get things ready for SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!  Go Packs!

Fabric in: 13.5 yards
Fabric out: 35.17 yards
Total fabric in: 22.5 yards
Total fabric out: 61.76 yards
Net: 39.26
Goal: 150 net yards out

Stash Report - Week 5

Well, I had some purchases this week.

First of all, I needed backing for the Wonky Town quilt.  I didn't have that much turquoise in my stash and I used it finishing up Wonky Town.  So, I bought this...

I have started several quilts and I realized that I was going to need some fabric to finish them.

So, I got this beautiful Shangri-La fabric.

So, here are my numbers.

Fabric in: 9 yards
Fabric out: 7.99 yards
Total fabric in: 9 yards
Total fabric out: 26.59 yards
Net: 17.59
Goal: 150 net yards out

How did you do this week? Make sure you check out Judy's blog to see how everyone else did.

Stash Report - Week 4

I made some progress this week.  Woo Hoo!

Here's my numbers.
Fabric in: 0 yards
Fabric out: 3.84 yards
Total fabric in: 0 yards
Total fabric out: 18.6 yards
Goal: 150 net yards out
I'm pretty happy with my numbers so far this year.  I'm over 10% on the way to my goal!  I've really been thinking about getting some fabric, but I'm having so much fun using it up that I'm hangin' tough, lol.

Make sure you visit Judy's blog to see how everyone else did this week.

Stash Report - Week 3

So, this week was interrupted by a hospital stay, but before I went to the hospital, I did finish the front and back of my Yellow Quilt

It's VERY Yellow, he he he

Plus I did some little tree blocks for my Wonky House Quilt and used up a little fabric there. I didn't take pictures of the tree blocks, but I will when I get home.

Still haven't bought any new fabric...though I've been sorely tempted, lol.

Here are my numbers:
Fabric in: 0 yards
Fabric out: 5.88 yards
Total fabric in: 0 yards
Total fabric out: 14.67 yards
Goal: 150 net yards out
I've decided to write my goal here at the bottom every week, so I'll read it over and over again.

Make sure you check out Judy's blog to see how everyone else did this week.

Addendum:  Rough night last night, so I'll have to live vicariously through you guys today!  Hope you all get some quilting done today!  Wish I could join you.

Stash Report Week 2

I'm getting some movement!YEAH!

I've been a busy girl this week...all hyped up on the New Year, I think, lol.

So, here's my stash report for this week:
Fabric in: 0 yards
Fabric out: 8.88 yards
Total fabric in: 0 yards
Total fabric out: 8.88 yards
Total fabric used: 8.88 yards
Goal: 150 net yards out
I visited a quilt shop on Saturday and I was all prepared to buy a particular piece of fabric that they had on sale, but it was gone, so I didn't buy any fabric. Yeah me!

I did get some thread to quilt my Yellow quilt.

Make sure you check out Judy's blog to find out how everyone else did this week.

Stash Report Week 1

I don't have any stash busted this week because I haven't been home!  :-(

We're stuck in Minneapolis until they open the roads, and I'm not sure when that will happen.  I think they're still clearing vehicles off the roadway!  What a mess the blizzard made of the upper Mid-west!

Anyway, like Judy says, we're all starting at zero, so here's my report:

Fabric in: 0
Fabric out: 0 :-(

Hop on over to Judy's blog to find out how everyone else did this week.

Stash Report -- December 5

Not a very exciting stash report.

I have used about ½ yard in my Layer Cake Quilt Along block, but that's about it.

Here's block 3.

The good news is, I have a large project that is just about finished, so I should be able to count it for next week!

So, here are my numbers:
Fabric in: 0 yards
Fabric out: .5 yards
Total fabric in: 40.08 yards
Total fabric out: 104.71 yards
Total fabric used: 64.43 yards
I don't think I'll make my goal of 100 yards net out of my stash, but that's okay. I'm proud of myself for slowing down the influx of fabric into my stash and for using up all the fabric that I don't LOVE. Those are good things to have accomplished, I think.

Make sure you check out Judy's blog to find out how everyone else did this week. We're getting close to the end of the year!

Stash Report -- November 28

Well, I'm still using up stash, but most of it doesn't count because the quilt isn't finished, or I'm using stash that I bought for a specific purpose (like for all my pillowcases).

I finished a pillowcase and gave it to my hubby, plus I finished a couple others as well.  Most of the people on my Christmas list are getting nice fuzzy warm flannel pillowcases and I'm getting quite a pile.

I used up a bit of stash on Block 2 of the Layer Cake Quilt Along.  There's still time to join us if you like!

I used up QUITE a bit in the first clue of Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll, but I haven't been counting stash as out of my stash until the quilt is bound.  (I think I'm going to change that next year, lol.)

I finished a little quilt top that Cherie helped me name "Pink Lemonade."  That was for my Quilter's Academy adventure.  :-)  Again, it's only the top, so I'm not counting that yet.

I'll just have to wait for some finishes, but they'll come soon enough.

The only fabric that I'll count out this week is the fabric from the blocks I made for the families of the miners in New Zealand.

Shirley Goodwin from dyeing2design is collecting heart blocks to put into quilts for the families of the miners who were killed in New Zealand.

I don't know about you, but I always feel so helpless when a tragedy occurs, and this is a way for me to feel useful, so if you have a few extra minutes, please visit her site and think about whether you could make one or more blocks to send "down under."

So, here are my numbers:
Fabric in: 0 yards
Fabric out: .33 yards
Total fabric in: 40.08 yards
Total fabric out: 104.21 yards
Total fabric used: 64.13 yards
How did you do this week?  Make sure and visit Judy to find out how everyone else did.

Stash Report -- November 14

Yeah!  Finally able to put down a little stash busted.

First of all, I've completed my goal of finishing seven quilt tops to send to Alycia for QOV (Quilts of Valor).  (Read how I discovered that starch is my friend while completing this last leg of my goal.)

I had counted some of that last week, but I get to count another 12.5 yards this week.  (I'm also sending some lengths of fabric for backings and bindings.)

I've busted a little stash in my Quilter's Academy Project.  Making up the practice squares eats up quite a bit of fabric!  I've busted 2.4 yards so far there.

I've also busted little bits of fabric for small projects like Block Lotto, and Christmas presents.  That's another 0.75 yards.

But, I bought a little fabric for Christmas presents...3 2/3 yards.

So, here are my numbers...
Fabric in: 3.66 yards
Fabric out: 15.65 yards
Total fabric in: 40.08
Total fabric out: 85.93
Fabric used: 45.85
Getting closer to that net 100 yards out!  Getting closer to that goal of only having fabric that I LOVE!

Make sure you visit Judy to find out what everyone else has done this week.  I suspect that we'll start to see some stash busted since everyone is getting focused on Christmas presents now.

PS:  This is my 200th Post!  Remember when I posted my 100th post?  That was only in August!  I guess I've been VERY verbose lately!

Stash Report -- November 7

Did you all set your clocks back this morning?  If not, you're not as late as you think you are, he he.

My Blogiversary was this week, so be sure and enter my giveaway.  You can see all the prizes here.

Yesterday and today, I'm in a class with Harriet Hargrave!  Definitely one of my heroes because she does all her quilting on a DSM (domestic sewing machine) and so do I.  She BLEW MY MIND yesterday in class, and I can't wait to see how today goes.  I can't wait to blog all about it.

Have you ever had the experience when something that you love so much has been opened up to you in a whole new way?  I don't even have the words to express what I'm feeling about quilting right now.  It's amazing and confusing and and and...I just don't have the words!

Well, the good news is, nothing in.  YEAH!  The even better news is I finished another top for Alycia so that used up 3.75 yards of scraps.  I may actually be putting on a border since it's a little smaller.

I have one more Twister to finish for her.  I was hoping to get that done before Friday, but obviously that didn't happen, lol.  My next goal is to finish it so I can send it off in the mail sometime next week...maybe Tuesday.

Fabric in: 0 yards
Fabric out: 3.75 yards
Total fabric in: 36.42
Total fabric out: 70.28
Fabric used: 33.86

I'm creeping up on that goal of 100 yards used, lol.  I have several Christmas presents to make, but I'm going to be buying fabric to make it.  I'm making some Minky pillow cases for my family members.  I've heard they're heavenly to sleep on!

Make sure and visit Judy to see how much stash everyone else busted this week!
