Eleonor Eat Your Heart Out!

Eleonor Burns is one of my favorite quilters, and today, I took a page from her life and made a "quilt in a day!"

I went to my friend Kari's studio, Rumpelquiltskin, in Wishek and we worked on the quilt for the kids quilt camp that we're having next week.

It went together really quickly and I think the kids are gonna LOVE it!

What did you do today?

Goofy Kiddos!

OK

Does this happen to you?

You download your camera card expecting to find certain pictures, and you find out that your kiddos have been playing with your camera.

I love my kiddos!

Sew Much Going On!

There is so much going on in my life right now, I don't even know where to start!

I'm really LOVING Emily! She's AWESOME!

I've finished ten or twelve quilts...I'm not even sure!

I took her to a quilt show. That was fun, lol.

And now, my friend Kari and I are doing a BUNCH of beginner classes over the summer.

I just can't wait!

So, now, I just need to keep you guys updated! I know that there are readers out there that are waiting for me to get in gear and start blogging again.

Today, I'll be going to Wishek to put together the quilt that we'll be doing with the beginner kids. I'll post pics of what we get done today. We're going to be doing a rail fence with them.

Hope you have a quilty day!

Wednesday, Wednesday

Ok, I know...the title is unoriginal (is that even a word?).

This is the wardrobe from my bedroom. My hubby moved it to the front room (which is now becoming my sewing room, lol).

Inside the wardrobe is....

...all the stuff I'm working on!

The quilts I need to bind...

The tops that are finished and waiting to be quilted...

And the top that I just finished quilting for my bestest friend!

How wonderful to see them all together and put away so they don't get spilled on, crumpled, or otherwise accosted in my busy household, lol.

Are you doing something quilty today?

We have Stitchin' Sisters tonight! YEAH!

Have a quilty day!

Getting Lots Done Today

Well, the girly quilt is a flimsy.

I really like the way this one turned out. I REALLY love these colors!

I also finished quilting one of the 4-H quilts. I'm glad another one is done. Three more to go.

Final Setting of the Girly Quilt

Here's the final setting of the "girlie" quilt.  I'll hopefully get this sewn together this afternoon and also finish quilting one of the 4-H quilts.

Yellow Brick Road Times Two

Exciting things are happening in my quilting life right now!

I've been starting a business and it's really been fun! So many projects in the works with lots of deadlines coming up.

One of the projects is another beginner class that I'm involved in starting in June. I can't wait.

We're going to make the quilt "Yellow Brick Road." How many of you have made this quilt?

We're going to offer kits in four different colorways, so my co-teacher and I are making the four quilts so people can see how they look when they're made up. We figure if they're going to be beginners, they won't know how to translate a pile of fabric into a quilt. I know I didn't as a beginner. I guess I still have trouble doing that, lol.

I have the two colorways that are for a boy and a young girl. My goal is to get these tops sewn together today if my daughter will help me lay out the blocks. She's so good at balancing a quilt! She's a natural.

What are your quilty goals for today?

I Have a New Website

Well, ladies and gents, I've been busy practicing on Emily...AND...I'm working on a website for my new quilting business names--what else--tamera quilts!

Here's a screen shot for the new site:

I'm so excited!

Now, everyone will know about my new business! Well, everyone that visits the website, that is, lol.

Things have been busy around here, but I'm so excited for the opportunity to quilt for others. I can't wait to help others get those flimsies into quilts they can use or gift!

Eventually, I hope to take in flimsies that others wish to donate, quilt them up, and donate the finished quilts. I can't wait for the opportunity to donate more quilts and spread the warmth!

I'll be posting some pics soon of some of the things I've been working on.

I already finished two quilts and the third one is almost finished.

And, I have two quilts that I'm quilting for one of my best pals. She also just finished a third this evening! She's smokin'!

Hope all your quilty dreams are moving along as mine are.

Stash Report - Week 11, 2012

For my stash report today, I'll have to say that I'm getting ready to use up a LOT of fabric.

Today is going to be for basting all the tops I can find that I have backs for. I'll be quilting them up because...

SHE'S HERE!

This is Emily. I chose the name because I thought that Emily sounded like a Sweet Sixteen girl, lol.

I'm SO excited to have her at last. She's a sit down 16" throat mid-arm.

I'm ready to work!

Here are some of the things I've been working on.

Make sure you check out all the stash busting going on at Judy's blog!

Design Wall Monday - March 5, 2012

On my design wall today is a practice piece.

I'm practicing channel quilting and I made up this practice piece to see what it looked like.

First I started by doing 45º angles together, but that didn't give me the look I wanted.

Then, I tried 45º and 60º criss-crossing...

That was more what I wanted...A diamond shaped crossing.

Here's a close up that shows the different things I tried and how I labeled them.

This was such a useful exercise! I got to see how my piece would look before I did it.

It's a lot better than what I usually do...Just fly over the cliff without looking and hope I don't fall too far, he he he. Maybe I'm growing up!?!?!?!

On another note, my HQ Sweet Sixteen is shipping TODAY! I am so excited, I can barely contain myself!

I really want to get some of my tops basted this week so I can just jump right in and quilt as soon as it gets here.

Make sure and stop by to see what everyone else is up to at Judy's blog.
