It was a quiet day today. Just a little school and sewing.

Here's my cutie boy.  He's losing all his teeth, so he looks pretty funny.

And, here's a secret project that I'm working on. I can only show little parts because it's for someone who reads my blog.

I did have an exciting bit of news, though. My HQ Sweet Sixteen is shipping on March 5th! I'm SO excited! I can't wait to get all my floppies quilted! I have so many that are waiting.

Why I Love Homeschooling

Have I told you all lately how much I enjoy homeschooling? This afternoon, instead of riding the bus home, my little boy was making his quilt.

Doesn't he look like he's really concentrating???

And here's his completed block!

What a joy to be able to teach him things that he wouldn't be learning in public school. I so enjoy homeschooling, even though there are some hard days!

Design Wall Monday - February 27, 2012

On my design wall this morning is an applique piece.

This is a piece that we're doing for Stitchin' Sisters (the guild we started in 2011). We're a group of mostly beginner quilters, so we're learning new techniques this year.

On this piece, we're learning applique, on point setting and we'll be paper piecing the border.

We'll also be learning borders, free motion quilting, and binding together.

Design Wall Monday - February 13, 2012

On my design wall this morning is fabric.

This is the border that I bought for the Color Palette Challenge...

I'm not a wine drinker, but I thought that it matched the palette perfectly!

Here is the fabric that I have so far...

I think I need some green...and a pattern, lol.

I have been thinking and thinking and I have a few ideas, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. Got any ideas?

Stash Report - Week 7 - 2012

Well, I added some fabric this week. How did you do?

First of all, I have to tell you that my FAVORITE color is orange. And would you guess what the Pantone Color of the Year is this year???? TANGERINE!

So, to celebrate, Fat Quarter Shop put together this Tangerine Tango fat quarter pack. However, I had determined that I didn't want to buy a lot of fat quarters any more. I have enough. SO, I figured out which fabrics were in the fat quarter pack and bought a half yard of each, lol.

Aren't they preety??? Chalk up 5½ yards.

Secondly, the February Palette Challenge over at Judy's really caught my imagination this month, but I knew that I didn't have any fabric in those colors. So, I decided to just look for border fabric...but of course, when I found the border fabric, the coordinating fabric just had to come home with me, too.

Chalk up another 7¾ yards.

At least I have a plan for most of it, he he he.

Good morning everyone! How was your Tuesday?

We went to Bismarck. I had several appointments and we had a few things to pick up.

I got the last few things I needed to finish up my iron cozy...

How fun is that?

Tonight is Stitchin' Sisters (quilt guild), so that's going to be fun.

Design Wall Monday - 2/6/12

On my design wall this morning is a tiny little twister quilt that I'm making for my Step-MIL.

She and my FIL allowed us to use their hunting lodge for our guild's retreat without charging us. It was awesome! AND, her birthday is on Valentine's Day.

So, I decided to make her this little table topper.

Please note the messy cutting table with math pages and thank-you notes littering the sides, lol.

To give you an idea how small this little quilt is...

It was made using 3½" squares...teeny tiny, but not the smallest available, lol.

And, for the cuteness factor...

This is Lilac, the baby guinea pig. Isn't she just too cute for words????

Stash Report - Week 6 - 2012

Well, I just don't know what to say except "hi again" and I hope that you will be reading what I have to say again.

As you may have guessed, I took a LONG hiatus from blogging.

I miss it and I miss all of you!

So, since I quit, I'll give you a quick run-down.

I lost 70 pounds. (My friends told me I had to change my photo!)

My kids all of the sudden grew up. Two of them had their tonsils out. I had surgery on my vocal cords. YUCK!

I didn't get much quilting done, but I'm back in the groove again. Our guild is thriving and we had our first retreat a couple weekends back. Was that ever fun!!!!

I guess that about sums it up.

I am going to be joining the Stash report and Design Wall Monday's again, and I'm really excited about that! Hope to hook back up with my blogging buddies. I know that you're all forgiving.

I think I may have burned myself out on blogging before, but I have really missed it, and It's such cheap therapy! :-)
