Well, I only had one thing on my list last week, and I didn't get it done, lol. I was busy this week, though.  I got quite a few blocks finished and I started on a new quilt. I wasn't able to report last week since I was at retreat, so I have a lot to report this week. On my design "wall" this morning are my Wonky Houses that I won from Block Lotto several months back. Well, Tuesday is Bismarck day.  We went "to town" for lessons and groceries, etc. This morning and this evening, I thought I would try my hand at paper piecing. I've done a little, but not much. YEAH!  Finished Block 5 of Layer Cake Quilt Along. I have to admit, I didn't think I was going to like this block when I first looked at it, but I LOVE it made up. I also have to admit, I wouldn't want to make a WHOLE quilt with this block. I think I'm learning to like sampler quilts, lol.  If you don't like a block, you only have to do it once! I finished the block for Gena. She wanted a block from a quilter in each state, and I'm it from North Dakota. I think it turned out cute, but I'm embarrassed to tell you how I constructed this block...I did it "by the seat of my pants" and after working a while, I was able to get it all together, lol. If I had it to do over again, I would have fussy cut the "petals," but I'm happy with it.

I'm working on clue 2 of Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll.  It calls for 120 HST (half square triangles) made in groups of four, so I decided to use this method that I found on Missouri Star Quilt Company's website. I finished the second block in the Layer Cake Quilt Along. I suppose everyone is cooking today, or cleaning in anticipation of family coming. Me...I do have some cooking to do, but not a whole lot of cleaning because it's just us, lol.  na-na-na-na-bo-bo There are a few things that we're going to get ready for tomorrow, but mostly, we'll do the cooking tomorrow.  I was smart and bought a roaster so I won't have to use up the oven with just the turkey!
